The Shift: A 10 Week Hybrid Workshop-Mentoring Program

If you want to take that next step and amp up your business for 2016, The Shift is for you! This ten-week workshop was dreamed up after we thought about the big game-changers in our business that allowed us to quadruple our income and book 40 weddings a year! This ten-week program includes 9 weeks of one-hour live calls and includes a one-hour one-on-one live call for each participant, a live Q&A after each session, access to a private facebook group for the duration of the workshop and then access to our alumni group after the workshop is complete, and the 2015 version of our workbook, as well as the updated version in 2016! The workshop will be held on Tuesday evenings and will run from December 8February 9.

Week 1: Building a Brand
During Week 1, we’ll start with the basic premise that you’re the boss and you get to decide what your business will look like, but we’ll talk through this by discussing what it means to have an authentic brand and your why. We’ll discuss how to be brutally honest with yourself and then how to communicate your brand to potential clients so that you attract the right type of client.
Week 2: The Client Experience & Education
During Week 2, we’ll build upon Week 1, and we’ll talk about how to educate your client and make sure that they have an incredible experience from the moment they contact you until after you’ve archived their client file. You’re the professional and they’re looking for you to guide them through this process.
Week 3: Marketing
During Week 3, we’ll talk about the various things we’ve done for our clients, their guests, and their vendors, to book 40 weddings a year with the most amazing clients we could ask for. We’ll touch on paid advertising, bridal shows, and simple free and inexpensive marketing.
Week 4: Pricing + Reveal Parties
During Week 4, we’ll touch on pricing structures that have worked well, putting our time in to get where we are, things that have not gone so well, and our recent and extremely successful transition to In-Person Sales.
Week 5: Lighting
During Week 5, we’ll talk about natural light + off camera flash to create dynamic lighting so that you’re comfortable in any situation. Between week 4 & 5, there will be an optional add on three hour class for $250 if you want to learn Off-Camera Flash in detail!
Week 6: Consistency in Shooting: Having a Plan + Breaking Rules
During Week 6, we’ll talk about our revelation over the summer that we were going into wedding days without a game plan which led to a lot of stress and inconsistencies. We sat down and wrote out our plan, what we were each responsible for, our go to poses and shots that we needed, what to do if the timeline is thrown out the window, how to troubleshoot lighting issues, what gear we needed and when, and so on. The result was weddings that were authentic to our couples, me saying “we need a sample album of that wedding,” and an even more amazing client experience. It allowed us to get creative and break our rules to make phenomenal images, which has increased our sales post-wedding, too!
Week 7: Consistency in Editing: Tips + Tricks
During Week 7, we’ll talk about all things post-processing. One of the big things I notice when people tell me they’re not booking like they’d like is that their work product just isn’t consistent, especially in their editing. I’ll talk about our post-processing workflow, our import presets, batch editing, matching cameras, our final batch that gives us that clean pop, and a variety of tips and tricks.
Week 8: Workflow, Time Management, and Work-Life Balance
Week 8 will allow us to talk through our entire workflow and how to manage your time so that you’re actually spending your time with the people you love. We’ll also talk about when outsourcing and hiring employees is the right move for your business.
Week 9: Business Management + Automation 
And last but not least, we’ll talk about how to automate your business and all of the tools of the trade I use to make sure that our business is managed efficiently and with as little time and effort as possible. This will also include our social media automation tips!
